Did he really say on draft night that this was the biggest night in UK basketball history?
I know what Cal meant and what he was trying to do, he was using that as a recruiting tool but I am sure a LARGE population of Kentuckians will not see that statement the way that i did and will be irate over john Calipari valuing that over the great Kentucky traditions.
How do u see it?
is it a smart recruiting tool? or did Cal just misspeak and really make a dumbass comment?

He made a dumbass comment for sure. Of course that wasn't the biggest night in UK history. We have had seven NCAA titles and over half of the SEC titles in history. It was the biggest night in UK / NBA Draft history.
Cal is standing by his statement through the criticism, but he knows he was wrong lol. I hope he can hang a banner next year and make the statement again lol.

i guess if he shows that UK players turn pro, that will make all the top recruits keep choosing UK so in that instance, it could've been the biggest night moving forward. i think he wants to forget about Ricky P spanking his ass at Umass in 96.
