They are burning jerseys in Cleveland, they are rioting, turning over cars.... Pretty terrible feeling and scene there to which i do sympathize.
I,however, do not blame Lebron for leaving Cleveland. He gave 7 years of his life to the franchise, played his heart out, did all he could for the franchise and came up short.
Do not blame Lebron Cleveland fans, blame your inept GM and organization. Lebron owes Cleveland absolutely nothing.
This past trading deadline, Cleveland had the opportunity to acquire Amar'e Stoudemire straight up for JJ Hickson... Cleveland for some reason refused to do the deal. JJ was too valuable and young..
Makes you wonder what would've happened if the deal went through. Cleveland would've been able to give both guys the max and maybe Lebron stays. Instead they chose a very overrated Antawn Jamison and the rest is history.
Lebron going to Miami works because I always saw Lebron as more Magic Johnson than Michael Jordan. i really feel Lebron can come close to averaging a triple double in Miami as he will be the Point Forward and each guy fits together perfectly as seen in the past Olympics when all three were on the floor together.
Every superstar in NBA history had other GREAT players around them. Even the early 60's teams of Bill Russell and Co had multiple hall of famers, LA in the 80's had Magic, Kareem and Worthy, Boston Had Bird, Mchale, Dennis Johnson, Robert Parish, Detroit had Isiah and Dumars,Rodman,Laimbeer, Jordan had Pippen and later Pippen and Rodman plus Kukoc. Duncan had David Robinson and then Manu Ginobli,Tony Parker. Heck Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team for his first 3 rings and even now his team is STACKED.
So cut Lebron some slack. He isn't piggybacking a title, he will still be the main or at least co main reason they win.
The NBA is about championship rings, and Cleveland, as posted in a previous topic, just did not have the pieces. U will see also next season. If LA lose Kobe Bryant, LA still are a playoff team, maybe an 8th seed, but they could still make the playoffs at least. When Michael Jordan left Chicago to play baseball, they still went to the Eastern Conference Finals. Next year, Cleveland don't win 25 games.
People also want to talk how Wade already has a ring and its like Lebron needs Wade to win a title... Well, let me ask a question.. what has Wade done SINCE winning that title? NOTHING. so i think Wade needs Lebron just as much.
