Terrell Owens believes he doesn't have a job right now because of the perception put out by ESPN and the media that he is basically a bad guy and a team killer.
I agree with TO on this 100 percent.
Lets do a rundown:
Has TO ever been put in jail for an illegal firearm going off in a club?
Has TO ever killed someone drinking and driving?
Has TO ever been arrested for possession of drugs?
Has TO ever been arrested for domestic Violence?
Has TO ever been arrested for Assault?
Has TO ever been accused of Sexual Assault or Rape?
Has TO ever taken plays off or left a game early or ran over a traffic cop with his car?
The answer to the above questions is NO, not one single off the field incident for Terrell Owens in 15 NFL seasons.
So why is Terrell Owens unemployed but a murderer like Dante Stallworth or a multiple accused rapist in Ben Roethlisberger still have jobs? U TELL ME!
TO is a team killer, hear it all the time, he divides the locker room, he attacks his QB, Coach,Offensive Coordinator.. and I can't deny that he has done these things in the past. TO's biggest problem is, he is too honest, too passionate, he wants to win TOO bad. So when things aren't going right on the team, he basically points out exactly what people make a living pointing out on Talk Radio and TV shows.
Let us also not forget, that is was Donovan McNabb, not TO, that fired the first shot in Philly. They had a squabble on the sideline, which happens in every NFL game, but when TO went down with a foot injury before the playoffs, It was Donovan that said going into the Super Bowl "We made it to the Super Bowl without him" WOW, what a shot that was! is that being a good teammate? Basically saying TO was unimportant and not a necessary part of the team?
So can anyone blame TO for firing back at Donovan when he choked the Super Bowl away by puking in the huddle etc? McNabb was jealous because TO stole his thunder and his star.
Lets go to Dallas, Everything he said was true. Tony Romo fed Jason Witten the ball, Jason Garrett had the WORST offensive gameplan in the NFL, even Ray Lewis, commented on how elementary Dallas' offense was. So TO voiced his opinion because his team wasn't living up to expectation. If Derrick Jeter or Peyton Manning or what have u said what TO said, they'd be applauded and hailed as great leaders, Fiery, Courageous, want this guy in my foxhole etc. Where its TO and the media get their ratings by bashing him, they of course turn it into he is selfish and a team killer.
I have limited experience with organized sports, but I know I want a guy who CARES about winning over someone who is just interested in cashing their check and could care less about the team's win/loss record.
TO had a decent season in Buffalo, he had no O Line, a coaching change, they fired their offensive coordinator right before the season and oh yeah, he had Trent Edwards and then Ryan Fitzpatrick as his QBs.... case closed.
TO deserves to play in the NFL, he is a Hall of Fame receiver that is very passionate and sometimes speaks too much of the truth, but in today's world of fake athletes and cliched, agent typed, tow the company line vanilla interviews, I love the fact TO is one of the last TRUE athletes left.
