Donnie, I agree that Dana and the UFC are complete A-holes for things like the Tapout deal with Fedor. They also pulled that stunt with Affliction back in the day as well. Fedor will probably never fight in the UFC and both Fedor's handlers and the UFC are to blame.
Joe, to say that Brock Lesnar isn't a mixed martial artists is like saying Nolan Ryan wasn't a baseball player. All he did was pitch right? He couldn't hit a fastball, curveball, or steal bases or etc...
Brock is the UFC HW champion. He beat BJJ Blackbelt Frank Mir and MMA Legend and multiple champion Randy Couture. He doesn't just hold people down and wrestle them. He uses his wrestling to gain position and punch them and punish them. All MMA coaches teach that position is the key to fighting. You must have superior position to win a fight... standing or on the ground. Wrestlers lose to BJJ guys all the time because they cannot defend submissions. Lesnar has learned to defend subs and he has learned to punish fighters AFTER using his wrestling to gain control of the fight.
Lesnar has a BJJ, Boxing, Kickboxing, cardio, strength and conditioning coach. He is not a master of any of these trades, but he does study them. He is a Mixed Martial Artist and he is the best HW in the best MMA Promotion out there. He will dispatch of Carwin, then Velasquez, then Dos Santos and he will dominate the UFC HW division and the final statement will be borrowed from the most famous pro wrestler of all time......

Thats like Tito.. for him to be one dimensional and only a wrestler he came very very close to subbing a BJJ blackbelt with a textbook perfect triangle.

I can understand the UFC and why they would do it. I mean when that one promotion opened in Harlan that didnt last long, I'm sure u wouldn't have wanted Walbright and Co to fight for them also. So i can understand them not wanting TapouT to lend credibility to the competition but it still isn't right imo to threaten a company like tapout that has been with u since day one.

I asked Walbright not to fight for them and I asked all our fighters not to fight for them. I see Dana's thing too, but he takes beyond the limit sometimes IMO.

I think Fedor is the best fighter in the world. I also think his age is eventually going to cause him to lose a fight. It's a fact that Father Time catches us all... Is he beatable? Yes...there is no human on the face of the earth that cannot be KO'd or caught in a submission. ... I honestly think that Fabricio Werdum presents the biggest challenge in his career tomorrow night. If Werdum were to win, I would say I'm not 100 percent surprised... If I had 1000 to play with, I would go to Vegas and bet it on Werdum in a choke for a win. To me, however, it would be the equivalent of Douglas knocking out Tyson. Boy, the money that could have been won that night huh? Damn, I wish I had bet that 1,000 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did pretty well i just never knew when to quit. i got into a bad habit and it wasn't pretty. so Thank Goodness it got really really hard to cash the checks which is what helped me stop.
MMA use to be easy to beat the bookies on.. now its pretty tough as the matchups have gotten more and more closely contested.

Yeah, MMA is hard to predict these days. The best fighter doesn't always win lol.

I think the only upset I've ever predicted was BJ Penn over Matt Hughes. I remember being up at Joey's and telling them i thought Penn would win and they were telling me i was crazy etc.
other than that.. i suck at upsets!

You can say what you wan't, believe what you want, but brock lesnar is not a mixed martial artist. Far from it. He has a long way to go in order to be a real mixed martial artist. Sure he fights mma, and he has won a whopping what 4 fights. He is just so much bigger and stronger that all he has had to do in take guys down and lay on them and punch.... I mean he comes in to the ring at close to 300 lbs, why the other fighters are struggling to make 265, and that's if they are even close to 265. He is just big and strong and a good wrestler. Everything else is shit. And nolan ryan could hit. And i take one thing back that i said, tito is a mixed martial artist. And neither one of you would have put money on werdum.

Brock Lesnar is not only a mixed martial artist, but he is the best in his weight class and that is why the belt is strapped around his waist. There are thousands of people stronger than Brock Lesnar in this world. In fact, Tim Sylvia just beat the shit out of the strongest man in the world. He was much bigger than Sylvia and he has a wrestling background. You don't beat the best MMA fighters in the world by just being strong and bigger. That is the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Brock uses his best skill (Wrestling) over other skills. Is Shaq not a basketball player because he don't hit 3's or FTs? One thing you should do is give credit where credit is due. How many asses is Brock going to have to kick? How many titles is he going to have to win? What is he going to have to do for you to call him a mixed martial artists? Nolan Ryan could hit? His career batting average is .110 lol. His highest ever average was .216 / He hit under .100 four times and under .110 several more. He could hit? Bad argument there. Clearly he could NOT hit. Also, wrestling is the OLDEST form of Martial Art in the world. If mixed martial artists didn't have wrestling skills, they would all get their asses kicked.

Yeah i mean going by that argument, there are only maybe a handful of true mixed martial artists.. BJ Penn, Fedor, Shogun, Mir and i am sure quite a few others.
I mean it is a legit argument in the respects that, would Brock be this good if he weighed 240? Honestly, I think he would. Thing about Brock is, he is one of the first TRUE athletes in MMA
U should see Brock's NFL Combine numbers, they are just ridiculous. he repped 225 like 43 times, ran a 4.65 40 and had a 36 inch vertical leap! That is just fucking INSANE!
My problem with the post is, the same can be said for GSP. he is bigger, stronger, faster than other WW and uses wrestling to basically blanket his opponents.
If Brock isn't a Mixed martial Artists, Royce Gracie, Demian Maia, etc etc weren't either cause they have JJ and thats it.
There are different interpretations, but when i think of MMA, i just think of it as a clash of the skills. like mixed fighting, discipline vs discipline.. sure its starting to evolve into fighters training all disciplines but all still rely on their bread and butter and tbh, outside of Fedor and BJ, there aren't many as dangerous on the feet as they are on the ground. everyone has their weaknesses in the other areas.
Take Shogun and Anderson, as great as they are, they can't wrestle for shit.
Brock gets a bad rap. watch his 2nd fight with Mir and the Randy fight, he has some pretty good boxing skills. he isn't a stiff brawler.
BO the Shaq argument is a good one, although I have made the argument if Shaq was 6'8 260 he'd be the worst basketball player and wouldnt have made the NBA! LOL!

Did i say he was weight strong? no i said he was strong, being weight strong is totally different that be brute strong. And that's what he has is brute strength. He has no skill, every aspect of his so called mixed martial arts is SHIT accept for his wrestling.... I don't care if he wins 20 fights in a row, unless he improves on his mma skills he is not a mixed martial artist. A mixed martial artist is one who is skilled in 2 or more aspects of fighting. He has one skill and one skill only.. Takes shaq's height away and he wouldn't have even made his junior hight basketball team. In my opinion he isn't a basketball player, he can't dribble, and can't shoot, all he can do is stand under the goal. Anyone that size could do that blind.

I do agree on the Shaq thing. He couldn't beat any of us on here in Horse.
Brock though I do disagree, I mean no MMA fighter has that good of standup if we are gonna by boxing standards.
Shane isn't an MMA fighter either nor is Cain Velasquez or even Randy Couture.
